Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes personal information when you visit our store, place an order, make a payment, use checkout, or interact with Shopify-powered services.
Because Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled on our store, Shopify may also process customer and visitor data to provide services to us and our customers. This may include using data from interactions with Snap Air, Shopify and other Shopify merchants to support services such as improved store performance, fraud prevention, personalisation, analytics and advertising-related services.
Your information may be shared with Shopify and other third parties that may be located outside New Zealand.
You can read more about Shopify’s privacy practices in Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal.
Marketing, analytics and advertising
We use marketing, analytics and advertising tools to understand how people use our website, improve our store, measure advertising performance and show more relevant advertising.
This may include tools such as:
- Google Analytics
- Google Ads, including Enhanced Conversions
- Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API
- Microsoft Clarity
- Microsoft Advertising, if used
- Shopify analytics
- Omnisend
- other similar ecommerce, analytics or advertising tools
These tools may use cookies, pixels, hashed customer information, device information, browsing activity, purchase activity or similar data.
For example, Google Enhanced Conversions may use first-party customer information, such as an email address, name, address or phone number, to improve conversion measurement. This information is typically hashed before being sent to Google.
Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API may send website and purchase events to Meta to help measure and improve advertising on Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Microsoft Clarity helps us understand how visitors use our website through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. This helps us improve our website, identify issues, understand customer behaviour and measure marketing performance. Microsoft Clarity may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect website usage data.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us.
You can also manage advertising preferences through your browser, device settings, Google, Meta, Microsoft and other relevant platforms. Blocking cookies may affect parts of the website or checkout experience.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies to help our website work properly and to improve your experience.
We may use:
- functional cookies, such as cart, checkout, account and security cookies
- analytics cookies, which help us understand website performance and visitor behaviour
- advertising cookies or pixels, which help measure and improve advertising
- preference cookies, which help remember settings such as location, currency or cookie choices
Some cookies are set by Snap Air or Shopify. Others may be set by third-party services we use, such as analytics, advertising, payment, review, email marketing or website app providers.
You can usually disable cookies in your browser settings. Some website features may not work properly if cookies are blocked.
Air quality monitors and third-party apps
Some air quality monitors or connected products we sell may work with third-party apps or smart-home platforms. These apps and platforms are operated by their own providers, not by Snap Air.
Snap Air does not receive your monitor readings, app account information, Wi-Fi details or smart-home data unless you choose to send that information to us, for example when asking for support.
Please check the relevant app or platform’s own privacy policy before using those services.
Overseas storage and service providers
Some of our service providers may store, process or access personal information outside New Zealand. This may include providers based in countries such as Australia, the United States, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom or countries in the European Economic Area.
Where we use overseas or cloud-based service providers, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and to ensure personal information is protected in a way that is consistent with New Zealand privacy requirements.
How long we keep personal information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes it was collected, including providing products and support, handling warranty issues, meeting accounting and tax requirements, resolving disputes, and complying with legal obligations.
When we no longer need personal information for a lawful purpose, we will take reasonable steps to delete it, anonymise it, or securely archive it.
How we protect personal information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
This includes using trusted service providers, secure systems, account access controls, password protection and other practical safeguards.
No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, we treat privacy and security seriously and aim to use tools and processes appropriate for a small ecommerce business.
If we become aware of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will take steps required under the Privacy Act 2020, which may include notifying affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Accessing or correcting your information
You have the right to ask us for access to personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
To make a request, please contact us at hello@snapair.co.nz.
We may need to confirm your identity before providing access or making changes. In some cases, the law may allow us to refuse or limit access, but we will explain the reason where required.
Third-party websites and services
Our website may link to third-party websites, apps or services. These are not operated by Snap Air, and their privacy practices are controlled by their own privacy policies.
This includes payment providers, smart-home apps, app stores, social media platforms, advertising platforms and product manufacturer websites.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first at hello@snapair.co.nz so we can try to resolve it.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business, website, service providers, legal requirements or privacy practices.
The updated version will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date.
