FAQs

Like many IOT devices, the Smart Air CO2 Monitor can only connect to a 2.4GHz network. It will also need to connect to a password protected network, rather than one where you login through an online portal.

The CO2 Monitor requires a Wi-Fi connection in order to communicate with the app. So while it includes Bluetooth, this is only for initial pairing - it can't transmit readings through Bluetooth. Once it's connected to Wi-Fi however, you can monitor it from your phone anywhere. Regardless of if your phone is on a different Wi-Fi network or you're using mobile data.

The CO2 Sensor is automatically calibrated. This will work fine, provided the monitor is exposed to fresh air for a few hours a month. Either by taking it outside or placing it near a window.

If this is not possible, the sensor may drift over time. You can manually recalibrate it from the settings menu via the QingPing IOT app.

It's true both the QP Pro (and other) models also monitor for CO2 (and more). However if monitoring CO2 levels is the primary concern, especially to reduce the chances of getting sick then this is a great option.

The primary benefit it it's much longer battery life, of up to 30 days. This means it's perfect for both portability and long-term monitoring with its wall mount and alert options. This also makes it perfect for businesses, schools and more.

The CO2 Monitor has been designed with accuracy in mind and uses an NDIR sensor from Swiss company Sensirion. Breathe Safe Air hasindependently reviewed this and found the Smart Air CO2 monitor to be in line with the Aranet 4 range of CO2 monitors.

Once your CO2 Monitor is connected to the Qingping IOT app, you're able to create customised alerts. To do this:

-Select your CO2 monitor through the app
-Tap the 3 lines at the top right f your screen
-Tap "Triggered Uploading and Alert"
-Tap "Add"
-Select what reading to use (temperature, humidity, CO2)
-Enter the value i.e. over 1000ppm
-Toggle "Buzzer" if you'd like to the device to use it's audible alarm in addition to sending you a notification
-Done! You can add additional rules if you like as well

All three monitors measure CO2, temperature, and humidity, with long battery life for portable use. The main differences are in connectivity, display type, and which setups
they suit best:

Smart Air CO2 Monitor: Connects via Wi-Fi, making it ideal for remote monitoring across multiple locations. You can check live data from various sites through the cloud and QP app, which is perfect for schools, offices, or home users wanting to monitor air quality without being on-site. It features a simple LCD screen with no backlight, providing basic CO2 readings directly on the device.
Temtop C10 2nd Gen: Connects via Bluetooth to the Temtop app when you're on-site. It features a larger E-Ink display, which is easy to read from wide angles and in bright rooms. It’s well-suited for homes, classrooms, or small businesses where you want app tracking but don’t need Wi-Fi.
Temtop C1+: Also uses Bluetooth and has a compact design with a simple LCD screen (no backlight). It’s an affordable option for basic CO2 monitoring and comes with a magnetic back, so you can attach it to metal surfaces like fridges or shelves.
